GoJacaranda is a forum where Ron airs his views and invites comments on a range of subjects.
Ron has over 30 years hands-on experience in business (as a successful senior executive, as a consultant, and as a wannabe entrepreneur), developing successful marketing strategies, developing effective teams, dealing with government regulation, managing cross-cultural problems, developing sustainable business practices, and tackling the problems caused by people who don’t know how to drink – in a practical, fun, and empowering way.
Ron is frustrated at the lack of common sense in modern government. Too often debate is reduced to that Monty Python sketch (”This isn’t an argument. Yes it is. No it isn’t!”). And when it comes to tackling the problems caused by individuals’ behaviour in society - too often the answer is “more government”.

Shrieks
It seems that each week we are faced with a new scare as a result of “research”. Journalists blithely report the “findings” without checking just how credible the story is. And lately, it seems that we are being offered conflicting advice. Sugar is bad. No it isn’t. Yes it is.
Sustainability
Business needs to be sustainable. That’s the important word, not Corporate Social Responsibility.
Sustainability isn’t just supporting a charity. Or just asking your employees to turn off the lights when they go home. Or listening to the latest exhortation from the “greenies” – it is about making sure that your business practices are sustainable. And being sustainable should add value. Not cost.
